We celebrated my birthday and the 50th anniversary of my enlisting in the military by visiting the MAPS
Air Museum at Canton-Akron Airport the hanger where it all began.

I was a member of the 121st Comm Sqdn, 145th Aero Medical Transport Sqdn at KCAK,
164th Tactical Fighter Sqdn. 122 TFW (TDY at KAPN) and 179th Combat Support Sqdn at KMFD.

Aircraft were outside in preparation for using the hangar for other activities.

Some restoration and historical exhibits inside. A work in progress.

Russ's 50th Anniversary of Joining CAP

I haven't been active in the Civil Air Patrol program since the 1960's. But since 2006 was the 50th anniversary of joining the program, I decided to make this page in remembrance of the old days. Things have changed a bit since then but the memories remain.

I was a member of Cleveland Composite Sqdn 405, Dover Bay Cadet Sqdn 407, and Cleveland Group XI.
